Handbiker Jetze Plat and his sports physician Guido Vroemen visited Lode BV. They wanted to test the capacities of Jetze on our Brachumera Sport Arm Ergometer. This arm ergometer with a workload up till 2500 watt is the most suitable arm ergometer for testing professional athletes like Jetze. He performed a multiple Wingate with our LEM software module Wingate Test Plus and reached a workload of almost 1000 watt! This is an incredible performance of this young top athlete.
Since he was born, Jetze has a disability on his legs. Since he was 3 years old, he uses a prosthesis for walking. His parents provided him with a handbike in order to be able to go to school. This was the beginning of a professional handbiking career. In May 2011 he received an official nomination for the Paralympics in london, 2012. In Spain he received a second nomination which means that his dream is within his reach. Of course, we wish Jetze all the best in his career and trust he will perform well in London!
