The Stud-Drive research is already in an advanced stage. In total 28 people participated in this research. The riders of team were the last subjects who participated. The Lode Ergometer has proven its abilities once more.
Every test subject who participated has done six sprints of five seconds on the test setup. The first two of these sprints where necessary to let the people get used to the setup and sprinting, and as well as a warming-up.
After this the four sprints for the measurements where performed. The subjects were asked to perform a five second all-out sprint after a one minute warming-up. During the sprint the rotations per minute of the cranks were kept constant by the Lode Ergometer, while it measures the power that the subjects produce. This is called “isokinetic cycling”. In this way it was easy to standardize the test and collect reliable data.
Currently they are processing this data in order to be able to analyze the performance of the Stud-Drive.
The results of the research will be posted on the website of the HPT http://www.hptdelft.nl soon!
