MR Ergometer Pedal

Medication free, load adjusted patient activation during MR scans

The MR ergometer is specially developed to use in combination with an MR scanner. The MR ergometer is MR conditional and can therefore be used in the MR room. This pedal version is suitable for cardiology and has an adjustable workload up to 300 watt. Thanks to the low moment of inertia, the patient can start pedalling easily despite the supine position. The MR ergometers workload is controlled with an electronic braking principle especially designed for use in an MR environment. The MR ergometer is standard supplied with the Lode Ergometry Manager (LEM) software, the Optical Interface Cable, and a power unit. With the software the MR Ergometer can be controlled from the operator room. Protocols and patient data can be saved. The power unit is completed with a safety cable for wall fixation. The MR ergometer can be used for MR scanners up to 3 Tesla. 


The MR ergometer is supplied with a carrier for easy transportation, fixation on the MR bed and storage.

Tesla independent

The choice of materials and the special design makes that the Lode MRI ergometer is useable for various Tesla MRIs without giving artifacts on the imaging.

Exercise instead of medicine

When a test subject is able to do exercise, it is always recommended above pharmacologic stress. It allows objective measurement in either level of cardiac conditioning and/or level of cardiac work. It is safe and perfectly reproducible.

Extreme low start up load

The extreme low start-up load of 7 watts and the adjustability in small steps of 1 watt make this ergometer perfectly suitable for many different applications. The standard control unit shows multiple ergometry parameters and you can determine your specific default setting and start-up menu.

Suitable for GE MRI scanners

The Lode MR Ergometer can be used with GE Signa and Discovery scanners.

Suitable for Siemens MRI scanners

The MRI Ergometer can be used in combination with many Siemens Magnetom MRI scanners, like Skyra, Aera, Verio, Essenza, Prisma, Avanto Fit, Vida, Sola, Altea, Lumina and Spectra.

Suitable for Philips MRI scanners

The ergometer can be used with with various Philips MRI devices
like Philips Achieva and Ingenia.

Low noise

Due to accurate manufacturing and the careful choice of materials the product has an extremely low noise level.

Accurate over a long period of time

The Lode ergometers are supplied with an electro-magnetic braking mechanism of Lanooy (eddy current). The biggest advantage of this braking system compared to a friction braking system is the absolute accuracy and the accuracy over time. Moreover, friction braking systems have more wearing parts.

Small adjustment steps

The workload of the Lode ergometers is adjustable in steps of only 1 watt. Depending on your wishes, the test operator or the test subject can adjust the workload. The steps of 1 watt are possible in the manual mode as well as within protocols.

Service friendly ergometer

Lode ergometers are very service friendly. In general, total costs for spare parts are so low that they are negligible. Furthermore, most options are so easy to install and firmware is so easy to update that labor costs are minimal. Moreover, the ergometer can be cleaned easily.
3 Tesla

Up till 3 Tesla

Lode MR ergometers are MR conditional. This means that under certain conditions, the ergometer can be used safely with MR ergometers up till 3 Tesla without artifacts being visible on the image.

The MRI ergometer is designed to be used with Siemens, GE and Philips MRI scanners. The type of movement (up-down, push-pull or circular) is depending on the diameter of the scanner and the kind of research (cardiac, spectroscopy etc)
Yes, since January 2010 all Lode MRI ergometers are designed to be used MRI scanners up to 3 Tesla
Yes, Due to the fact that the scientific research on the spread of Covid-19 is not yet conclusive Lode recommends to disinfect and clean all Lode products and their accessories (cuffs, heart rate belts, SpO2 sensors, handgrips/rails, touchscreens etc) that are in contact with the patient and or the medical personnel with a standard disinfectant as used in the hospital before and after every patient, with attention and care!

Since these agents are sometimes aggressive it might be advisable to check the effect on sensitive surfaces, like cushioning on non-visible areas. Lode will not take responsibility for discoloration due to these agents.
Lode MR ergometers are MR conditional. This means that the ergometer can be used safely in the MR room under certain conditions without artifacts being visible on the image. The minimum distance to the bore is the determining factor here.
